Grief touches every life, yet so often, it isolates us. At LIGHT Movement, we believe that grief deserves community, understanding, and healing. That’s why we created A Night to Illuminate Grief—a space where we pause to honor loss, connect with others, and reaffirm that no one walks this journey alone.
Our mission is rooted in four core goals:
Reminding people they are not alone.
Teaching the science of grief and somatic (mind/body/spirit) tools that integrate mind and body, fostering growth and meaning after loss.
Providing resources to navigate grief.
Standing in solidarity with all people, for all types of grief.
This event is not just a gathering; it’s a movement toward a world where grief is met with compassion and support.
What to Expect
Whether you join us virtually or in person, A Night to Illuminate Grief is an experience designed to bring connection and hope:
A Gathering of All People: A welcoming space for all individuals to unite in honoring loss.
Learning and Growth: Insight into the science of grief and somatic tools to support integration, healing, and meaning-making.
A Candlelight Ritual: A shared moment of support and reflection, reminding us that we are meant to hold each other through life’s darkest times.
Resource Tables: Access information and support to continue your journey of healing long after the event.
Why We Include Faith Representatives
Faith can mean many things—spirituality, community, or simply hope. At A Night to Illuminate Grief, we invite faith representatives not to lead a religious service but to be a symbol of unity. They represent the diverse cultural and spiritual beliefs that make up our shared humanity, reminding us that grief transcends boundaries.
No matter your religious, spiritual, or cultural background, we must move toward a collective understanding: grief is a human experience. By showing up for one another, we affirm that our differences don’t divide us—they enrich our ability to care for each other.
As we light up the night together, we’re not just illuminating grief. We’re illuminating love, compassion, and the resilience of the human spirit.
Let’s stand together—for all people and all types of loss.
Much peace,
Amy Pickett-Williams, LCSW, RYT
